Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
Acceptance
By downloading and using Shelter, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The Service
Shelter provides household emergency preparedness tools — including kit checklists, document vault, family plans, and scenario walkthroughs. All household data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not access your data.
Free and Premium
Core features are available at no cost and require no account. Premium features unlock additional capabilities and require a subscription managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscription terms, billing, and cancellation are governed by the respective platform's policies.
Privacy
We collect no data unless you explicitly create an account. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Intellectual Property
The Shelter core library (shelter-core) is open source and available under the MIT License. The app content, design, country kit data, and scenario scripts are proprietary and may not be reproduced without permission.
Limitation of Liability
Shelter is an informational preparedness tool. It is not a substitute for professional emergency services or official civil protection guidance. In an emergency, always follow instructions from your national civil protection agency, local authorities, and emergency services.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shelter and its creators are not liable for any damages arising from reliance on the app's content or from failure to prepare adequately for an emergency.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Shelter after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The date at the top of this page reflects when the Terms were last revised.
